About Good News

From Good News, May 1999

A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives heath to the bones.    Proverbs 15:30

APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS!

A special welcome to the readers of More Than Survivors. A short time ago Phyllis King, publisher of MTS, talked to me about sending out Good News with her newsletter. She has very kindly offered to pick up the cost of the copies to be included with MTS beginning this beautiful month of May 1999. I hope it will be a blessing to many of you who are receiving it for the first time.

GN began with an idea I believe God gave me several years ago and just came into being in the fall of 1998. I started out by saying that whenever my Christian friends got together, we would remark, “I wish we would hear good news—what we need is more good news.” The radio, TV and newspapers are filling minds with the very worst the world has to offer.

So, with God’s help, I put together some good news each month. Readers are encouraged to send ideas, both original material and things they have read. I try to include these things when appropriate. Be sure if you send something covered by copyright, that you include the source so I can properly give credit where due. I feature a hymn each month—send your favorite and a little bit about why you like it. Again, I want to say thank you to Phyllis for this opportunity to share Good News with all of you.  She has been very faithful these many years in getting MTS out to you. It is filling a tremendous need. God bless her and all of you.
